What's with these sudden second week breaks? They're just doing the same mistake with Journeys due to lacking staff and unwanted recaps.

Yes, because that’s something they clearly have full control over.

Pleasantly surprised Hogator is keeping up with that monstrosity of a Pawmot and he doesn't seem to be getting completely spanked by Nemo? Can't tell if Nemo is nerfing herself like ingame even if Pawmot is her ace.

I forgot that this thing is Fighting-type and Hogator has super-effective Disarming Voice as well as the fact Stomping Tantrum is a Ground-type move and not Rock-type (lol) but even Flamethrower seems to be enough to put a hurt on it.

As for Colza, a Terastallized Flame Charge/Trailblaze speed match would go so hard, absolute PEAK. First fight ended with it turning Grass so Stomping Tantrum would be NVE, then Trailblaze to avoid Ember. So maybe Hogator Terastals and eats it up by Flame Charge-Flamethrower combo. Would go crazy as a finisher and follow-up.

I feel like theres a slight problem with Roy winning here.
Either it means Roy is the only one of the kids to win their first gym battle if Dot loses her's, or it means Liko is the only one of the kids to lose their first gym battle if Dot wins her's.

Depends on where they are going with this: Will this be another repeat of early Horizons where Roy (and Dot) seemingly makes more progress than Liko as a trainer leading to Liko going through another aspect of her character arc where just doing her best isn't enough? On the other hand, she didn't seem at all upset/frustrated that she lost to Katy.

If so, it'd be ironically hilarious if the arc people think would be more Roy-focused since it's battling-related (even though Liko and Dot are also training to get stronger) is yet again focused on Liko.

Idk I see nothing wrong with Roy winning for once and the girls losing. Besides the point is to be successful in terastal transformation. So losing and winning is not a metric for success here.

It doesnt matter. Roy already lost to brassius. And he has a type advantage. Let him win lol. He's gonna get cooked by nemona anyway. And his goal is to get stronger.

Eh personally I wouldn't mind Roy losing again, if only because I just know certain fans of his who rat on Liko will relish on the aspect of him beating his gym leader opponent while Liko lost to hers.

So are Liko and Dot, albeit for different reasons. Liko wants to help Terapagos get to Lakua while Dot apparently wants to future out the mysteries of the world(?). Seriously why are people acting strength only matters to Roy?

I'm not saying it only matters to roy. But its his primary goal. He wants to battle rayquaza, a legendary. His MAIN goal is to get stronger. Likos goal is to get terapagos to rakua. Does that include getting stronger yes. Does that include getting so strong she can defeat a legendary pokemon? Not necessarily. Like the ambition is the difference. Its basically liko wants to study to get into a good college. Roy wants to study to get into Harvard/ MIT.

I think Roy loses to Nemona (or the battle is unresolved) and he beats Brassius in the rematch battle. I can't see Roy losing twice in one episode, that would be too much lol.

The only people who keep metrics and a tally board are typically fans of Liko. I keep seeing people say Roy fans are constantly making comparisons but I’m never seeing the actual posts that’s supposedly so rampant. Y’all are literally in competition with yourselves in a fake on sided war. This episode is about Roy’s Gym battle and you’re bringing up the L Liko took today for what? Perhaps it can be possible that they’re both component but fairly new trainers who’s bound to take some L’s at some point?

Either that or I can see his battle going unfinished but yea two loses is overkill

It's projection. You can find recent posts trashing Roy in several active threads on this site right now. People criticize his 'loss' count against strong opponents or argue over the dual protagonist concept or having a dickwaving competition over screentime prominence vs. Liko. It seems like some have a personal vendetta against him are trying to "prove" something about Liko. You'd think they could just enjoy a character for who they are (Liko) rather than using them as a weapon against others. Instead, why not create fan art, write meta-analysis, or pen fanfiction to celebrate the character?

This is them for like the last month talking about "Roy fans":

So excited to see Pawmot in action. Didn’t care for Pawmi but by the end of my play trough I can say it’s probably my favorite Pikaclone besides maybe Togedemaru and Pachirisu. Hope Roy wins this match because they’ve been giving Fuecoco tons of boosts and this is the best chance to show them off.

Yeah, Roy desperately needs a battle win of some sort.

And as someone already said, winning or losing is ultimately irrelevant here, what matters is Terastalizing and giving it your all.

All I know is that some people on twitter are upset that winning the battle isn't a requirement towards passing the test.
Edit: They equate it to back in the OS when Ash won a ton of gym badges despite not winning a battle against the gym leader

Considering people already hated how Liko and Roy's thresholds in improvement are stuff like "land a hit on the opponent once", making Liko pass even if she lost the battle still makes it feel like they are still coddling the kids' growths.

Liko passed because she demonstrated excellent usage of Terastalization.

Winning the battle was never the requirement. Why do you keep saying otherwise?
