Instructions

  1. Combine the dry ingredients in a bowl, sifting to remove lumps.

  2. In a different bowl, beat the egg until lightly scrambled.

  3. Add the milk and melted butter to the bowl. Stir.

  4. Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mix until it is combined into a batter.

  5. Heat in a frying pan on a medium heat. Cook pancakes until bubbles form on top, then flip and brown the other side.

    Add extra milk, sugar and vanilla essence then eat with just butter on top it tastes like warm vanilla cupcakes or vanilla cake so delicious

    Can’t wait to try these have tried quite a few pancake recipes over time, and while they are ok, this one looks really good, so am keen to try. Thanks for this. I’m talking about the one at the top, not the one someone posted halfway down the page, which sorry but I found bit rude. Why not start your own page, not try to get in on someone else. Just my opinion, everyone else might be quite happy,with that, I just find it bit rude. Anyway looking forward to trying the top of the page recipe, and my son can’t wait to try them.     Also to add to my first comment, I use a flat sandwich press to cook them, and each pancake I use a 1/4 cup as a scoop and it makes about 8.

      I would only do this if you need a yummy meal in quicker time. My friend uses a sandwich press and it pushes out most of the fluffyness of the pancake. If you have the time, definitely avoid the sandwich press.
      In a hurry, the pancakes are still pretty good.

    We found this recipe during lock down and its the best recipe. We have enjoyed pancakes almost everyday since. I also used it (without sugar) to make corn fritters.

    I tried this recipe and half way through I realised I didn’t have any eggs so I added 1/4 cup of apple sauce to substitute and it worked fine, I also only put half a tablespoon of baking powder in a small I was to scared to do too much and it also worked fine. They turned out very fluffy and delicious 5/5 recommend

    Here’s my pancake recipe you can try it if you want to
    1 cup of flour
    1/2 tsp of baking powder
    1 table spoon of sugar
    milk
    1-2 eggs

    sit all the dry ingredients together
    make a hole in the middle of the dry ingredients
    add the egg/eggs in the middle of the hole
    then add the milk until its a good enough consistency
    turn the stove on at a medium temperature
    cut up some butter and put in the pan then add the pancake mix
    and if you want to you can add lemon and sugar or maple syrup
